To what phones/numbers can my Tekcorner phone make calls to?
Your Tekcorner phone will be able to call any phone number in the world. This can be a local number, a mobile number, a long distance number or an international number. The person you are calling does not need any special equipment, just a regular phone.
How secure is Tekcorner Phone?
Tekcorner Phone is a very secure network. First of all, we have our own private networks that are not shared with the public Internet. Secondly, the voice signals are converted into digital pieces called packets. Then, these packets are transferred directly to the specific end users. Hence, hackers cannot simply tap into your conversation or change your digital voice.
How mobile is Tekcorner Phone?

What are the minimum system requirements for Tekcorner Phone?
You will need a broadband Internet connection and a spare Ethernet port on your Internet modem, router or switch to connect to the Tekcorner Phone Adapter.
Can I use Tekcorner Phone with my existing home number?
You may transfer your existing home number toTekcorner Phone or you may get a new Tekcorner number in the city of your choice (Keep your existing home number is only available in certain areas and its a one time fees of 30$).
How do I transfer my existing number to Tekcorner Phone?
To transfer your existing phone number to Tekcorner Phone, you need to authorize Tekcorner to act on your behalf to obtain your number from your existing phone company.
If you decide to transfer your number to Tekcorner, there are a few important things you need to be aware of:
- You SHOULD NOT contact your phone company to cancel your phone service. To transfer your current telephone number, it must be active on your account with your existing phone company.
- Once your number is transferred to Tekcorner, your phone line and all services associated with it will be disconnected. The transfer process may take up to 2-6 weeks. You will receive your VoIP Phone Adapter before your number is transferred.
If you were assigned a telephone number from Tekcorner, this number may at Tekcorner sole and absolute discretion and subject to applicable law be assigned to another Subscriber. Transferring phone numbers to Tekcorner (LNP) is possible only in Tekcorner serving territory. If you decide to transfer your existing phone number to Tekcorner from another telephone provider it is possible that your service will be interrupted in certain circumstances while the transfer is in process. Specific LNP instructions are listed in the LNP web page under “My Account”. To transfer any number to another company (Reverse LNP) you will incur an administration fee of $25 per number.
I have a DSL Internet connection and I want to cancel my current phone service to switch to Tekcorner. How do I keep my DSL Internet connection?
You can unbundle your Digital Subscriber Line (DSL) service from your current phone service and switch to Tekcornerl without losing your Internet connection. Please contact your Internet Service Provider to request for DSL Internet access on a “dry loop”. Once you have a dry loop, your phone line and Internet connection will no longer be bundled together.
What is a dry loop?
A “dry loop” (sometimes referred as a “Naked DSL”) is a copper phone line, without any phone service activated on it. The sole purpose of such a line is to provide high-speed Internet access. There is no dial tone on the line and no calls can be made to or from it.
A dry loop allows users to dispense with their regular phone service and use their high-speed Internet service to obtain a VoIP phone line. Users who order a dry loop may incur a small additional charge from their ISP because the ISP, in turn, is charged a fee by the local telephone company for the lease of the dry loop as per the rules and regulations of the Canadian Radio Television Commission (CRTC).

How is the call quality on Tekcorner Phone?
The quality of VoIP calls has improved significantly. Many upgrades and innovations in this field has now given Tekcorner Phone great sound qualities that is as clear as the traditional analog phone line. Please note, poor bandwidth and Internet connections are responsible for poor sound quality.
Can I make 9-1-1 calls?
Tekcorner Phone offers 9-1-1 service. Because of the unique nature of VoIP telephony calls, you must keep your temporary or permanent address updated so that emergency personnel can be routed to your actual location.

How do I listen to my voicemail from my email?
The voicemail will be in a wav. format which can be opened in any media player (e.g. Windows Media Player, QuickTime). When you receive your voicemail in your email, save the wav. file on your computer and open it with a media player to listen to your voicemail.
By default, your voicemail is sent to the email you provided when you signed up. If you would like to change the email address or disable this feature, please contact us and we will disable this feature for you. If you would like to enable this feature in the future, simply let us know and we will enable this option for you again.
What is Reasonable Usage ?
Tekcorner Services and features are to be used for residential, or small business use only and by only the account holder and the family members or employees, at the service address listed under the account holder. Residential family members include your immediate family who reside in your personal residence – e.g., spouse, domestic partner, parents and/or children. Except for small businesses, if your service plan allows you to use your service from other locations through a particular device or application, all use under that service plan is aggregated and must conform to normal residential, personal, non-commercial use.
Because over 95% of Tekcorner unlimited calling plan Subscribers use less than 2500 minutes per month and do not have any unusual usage patterns, a Subscriber’s aggregate usage may be considered outside of normal and reasonable use if it exceeds 2500 minutes per month in combination with other factors that may adversely impact other Tekcorner Subscribers or the Tekcorner network.
All Tekcorner plans have maximum reasonable call duration of 2 hours per call, after which time the call will be disconnected. Unlimited plans are subject to an aggregated limit (outgoing, call forwarding, conferencing etc) of all usage and features of 2500 minutes during each monthly billing cycle for inclusive calls. Incoming and Tekcorner to Tekcorner calls are excluded from this policy.
Tekcorner reserves the right to either suspend your Service and offer you an alternative call plan or terminate your Service if we determine, in our sole and absolute discretion, that your use of the Service or at any time was, inconsistent with normal residential or small business average usage patterns of other Tekcorner Subscribers. All usage minutes over 2500 minutes will be billed on a per minute basis based on the rates for the destination country being called. If we deem your use of our Services for commercial use, you will be required to pay our higher rates for Business Plans for all periods in which your use of the Service was inconsistent with normal residential or small business use or the Reasonable Usage limits described herein. Where permitted by law Subscriber may cancel.
